De La Paz · Intelligence · Reasoning over the published record
Ask the record.
Everything published on this site has been broken into individual facts, each one carrying the page and the section it came from. Ask a question and the system works out what would have to be true for an answer to exist, goes looking for each of those things separately, and shows you what it found, what it threw away, and how sure it is. Every sentence it gives back links to the place it came from. It cannot cite anything it did not retrieve, and it will tell you when the record has nothing to say.

How it works.
Five steps · Nothing hidden
There is no mystery layer. The method is fixed, the arithmetic is printed, and the evidence is the site itself.

01
The record becomes facts
Every sentence, figure and list entry on the site is indexed on its own, carrying the page it appears on, the section it sits in, and the field an editor would change to alter it.
-
02
The question is taken apart
A question of any substance is several questions at once. Each part is separated out, along with the things that kind of question additionally needs before it can be settled.
-
03
Each part is searched alone
Ranked by term rarity, passage length, how much authority the field carries, and whether the fact is about the thing you named. Strong evidence for one part is never allowed to carry a part with none.
-
04
It is weighed, then stated
Confidence is arithmetic over four measured parts: how much of the question the evidence covers, how much of it there is, how many different places it came from, and how much authority those fields carry.
-
05
Everything is shown
The plan, the terms searched, the candidates kept, the candidates discarded and the reason for each. If a part of your question found nothing, it says so rather than filling the space.
What it cannot answer.
Stated, not hidden
A system that only advertises its strengths is a brochure. This is the coverage of the record, measured against the questions a client or a hiring manager actually asks. Where it is thin, it is thin here too.

Where the record is short
Writing and publications. Title, what it is about, and where to get it.
Art and film. A line on each piece saying what it was for. Pictures alone cannot be reasoned about.
Ask about any of these and the console will say it has nothing, rather than reaching for something adjacent.
