    Where the disciplines actually meet

    I have been told that range is a lack of focus for most of my working life, always by somebody who had never had to hold the whole of a thing at once. So here is the argument settled with the index rather than with an adjective: almost nothing I make belongs to one discipline. These are the combinations that keep turning up, counted off the same index as everything else.
